Dr Alison Gibb is as Senior Lecturer in BA Visual Communication at .CSVPA.
Alison is an artist, poet and academic. Her teaching interests are in experimenting with analogue and digital processes, methods, techniques and theories to create challenging modes of teaching materials, enquiries and dialogues.
Alison has over 20 years of experience working within UK cultural industries and within higher education including, Art0matic, BBC, Southbank Centre & Arts Council England, University of Cambridge, Kings College London, Kingston University and The British Council.
Original trained in Fine Art, Alison holds a BA (hons) Fine Arts degree from Goldsmiths College & MA in Creative Writing and MFA in Poetry from Kingston University. Alison completed her PhD in 2018 from Royal Holloway, University of London. Her thesis situates a postmodern, contemporary poetic practice through the shared conceptual and experimental practices and theories of Marcel Duchamp & Gertrude Stein.
Alison has published widely in poetry magazines and anthologies including Resurgence & Ecologist, Long Poem, Poetry Wales and the Other Room. 聽Her artist/poetry books, a. Vase, Silent Diagrams and Parallel to Red in Chorus are published by the Knives, Forks & Spoons Press.聽
Alison has an ongoing research practice with choreographer and movement director Elaine Thomas of Poetic Matter, producing drawings, choreography, dialogues, sound-scores, texts, multi-media installations and live performances.
